Inkspirations Sketch Challenge #17

Another card challenge!  This time I'm playing along with Makeesha Byl's Inkspirations Sketch Challenge #17.  It's so easy to create great cards when you have a template to work from!  This is the template for the challenge:

I'm also entering this card in The Pink Elephant Challenge #45.  I've only just come across this Challenge Blog and as the theme was Anything Winter and/or Christmas, I thought this would fit!

I knew I wanted to use Stampin' Up's Snow Swirled, but I wanted to use some subtle colours.  So I went blog hopping and found a fantastic post by Teneale Williams.  So I've sort-of CASEd her card, in that the colours and the stamps are the same.

Anyway, here's my version!  You can see that I haven't stuck strictly to the template...

I stamped snowflakes on the Sahara Sand cardstock in Versamark and Whisper White, and the tree on Whisper White card using Sahara Sand ink.  I used Versamark and Sahara Sand ink to stamp the sentiment and then embossed it using clear embossing powder.  Then I applied the diamontes using Crystal Effects!  For some reason, the diamontes look silver in the photos - they're actually clear and sparkly.

Let me know what you think!

Materials:
Cardstock - Sahara Sand, Whisper White
Stamp Set - Snow Swirled, Best Yet
Inks - Versamark, Whisper White, Sahara Sand
Accessories - Clear embossing powder, heat gun, diamontes, Crystal Effects, Stampin' dimensionals

  4. Beautiful cards Dan. They are so simple and pretty. I cased this card from Teneale last week and made a Christmas card with Baja Breeze and white. I added a bit of glitter using glue dots. It's a nice change from the usual Christmas colours.
