I know, I know... Aqua is a lovely colour. It's calm, it's serene, it's gorgeous in satin... But we just have too many differences. Many a time I've been seduced by this luscious colour, but it always ends badly.
It's not the finished product that's the problem, it's the process. I'm quite pleased with the card itself. But that ribbon... it mocks me. It knows that it was the reason this card took three days to come together.
This ribbon knows that it is the reason that all my previously unmounted stamps are now mounted, all my pencils are sharpened, and I've watched an entire series of The Good Wife just trying to make it through this ordeal.
It is the reason that I simply couldn't resist using a sentiment inappropriately to create a pun.
So it is with great sadness that I must announce that Aqua and I are parting ways. We're just no good for each other. *sniff*

I feel your pain DD. I quite often buy on a whim and then wonder later on just what was I thinking! however, I think your card acutally works beautifully. That dash of colour on an otherwise nutral background makes you sit up and take notice!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely card and gorgeous ribbon Danielle, it's a shame it gave you such angst! But I know what you mean, I often have the same problem myself LOL. Glad you persevered tho, cos it's great.
ReplyDeleteYou crack me up! Your card works so well - Choc & Aqua look great together. Even that corny pun is perfect.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with you and the ribbon, your works is always so beautiful and to have to use it on the card is just a no to me, but marvellous that you bit the bullet it the end.

That dash of aqua ribbon sets of the neutral tones so well, and look on the bright side now you have your stamps mounted and your pencils sharpened, you are ready to create some more stunning creations!
ReplyDeleteIt seems to me that you and aqua worked well together even though there was some pain along the way! I like the surprise of color on the neutral card!
ReplyDeleteI'm wiping away tears of laughter. Your humor is priceless. I *love* your card, and fully appreciate the ordeal you went through creating it. My nemesis is colored cardstock. A beautiful card by the way!!!

ReplyDeleteSo, not that great a card with AQUA ribbon on it. Well look what card got a mention at Ribbon Carousel, knew it was a winner. Congratulations!
ReplyDeletewith everything else on the card, the aqua color of the ribbon helps the music staff and notes really pop in contrast. That's what the card needed to give it "pow"-er!!
ReplyDeletekudos on top spool recognition!
