Gorjuss Snowman Card Tutorial

It was a steep learning curve, and I have to admit that I very nearly threw in the towel... but here it is... my first video tutorial!

Be gentle!  ;-)

The stamp I've used, Gorjuss Snowman, is available from Craft-A-Lot.  And while you're there, check out the new Gorjuss stamps!  I sure hope Colleen's put some aside for me!

And now, for your viewing pleasure... ;-)

Thank you so much for visiting!  I really appreciate all the support I get through my blog and this wonderful crafting community.  :-)

RCC31 - Colour Our World

This week at The Ribbon Carousel Challenge BlogStephanie Muzzulin is challenging you to Colour our World!  Neutrals can always be used, but be sure to keep with Stephanie’s palette of Kraft, Red and Brown as your inspiration.

And we have The Greeting Farm as our sponsor!  The Greeting Farm will be giving one lucky random winner a choice of 4x6 rubber stamp set or one of their fabulous new clear acrylic stamp sets!

Here's my card for this week's challenge.  I used this gorgeous digi stamp from The Greeting Farm called Dressy Ebony - isn't she sweet?

I coloured her with my Prismacolor pencils.  The gorgeous seam binding that I've ruffled/looped can be found HERE.  I am completely and utterly in love with seam binding.  :-)

Your creation can be anything from cards, quilts, sewn items, paper crafts, paintings! *** Be sure to have ribbon, bakers twine, jute twine, lace, thread (basically anything that comes on a spool). ***

Did you know that there's a new Ribbon Carousel Blog?  It's separate from the challenge blog, and will be featuring tutorials, videos, sneak peeks, and more.  Make sure you check it out!

I'm also entering this into the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #145.

Thanks for stopping by!  :-)

Accentuate The Negative...

Accentuate the negative die cuts, that is!

Craft-A-Lot's gorgeous owner, Colleen, recently sent me a fabulous pack of goodies from the store, including the beautiful 12 Days Of Christmas Paper Pack by My Minds Eye.  LOVE these papers!  So I thought I'd use a bit to have a go with using the negative of a die cut.  I was so inspired by this gorgeous card by Julie Ebersole.

Yep, they're ultra simple... but aren't the flashes of those beautiful papers great?

I cut out the sentiments with the Silhouette (it needs to go back to it's owner soon... boo!) using some words I welded together.  To download these sentiments, click HERE.

I'm entering these into the Young Crafter's Unite Challenge #4.

Thanks for visiting!  :-)

Making A Photobook

My parents recently asked me to use up a voucher they bought for a photobook.  I felt bad just taking a voucher, so I offered to make one up for them of their 3 grand-kids.  I'm pretty pleased with how it looks in digital form, hopefully it will look good when it arrives too!  So I thought I'd share the pages I did of Olivia...

They're pretty simple, but I like that.  :-)

Hero Arts Butterfly

I went to post this last night, but decided I really didn't like it.  Today... I'm not sure.

I do like all the different elements.  The butterfly is from a new Hero Arts set that comes with matching dies, which is brilliant. The background is Hero Arts - I really like the subtle effect of the white ink on Naturals Ivory cardstock.  And the ribbon is some of the heavenly satin ribbon I love so much from Sew Sweet.

But together??  I'm not sure...

Holiday Card Boot Camp Card Share

Hello there!  I have another card to share from the Holiday Card Boot Camp class.  This one uses a bauble designed by Kristina Werner for cutting out with the Silhouette.  So while I was at it I made a sentiment to go with it.  I'm going to miss this machine when I have to return it!

I coloured the baubles with Distress Inks - these are from the Fall Limited Edition set.  Then I covered them in Crystal Effects.  I used some Natural Kraft Button Twine from Sew Sweet to tie a bow at the top of each ornament.

I'm quite pleased with the baubles.  I did struggle with the layout though... I seem to find baubles difficult to use??

RCC29 - Get Sketchy With Laura

Hello!  This week at The Ribbon Carousel Challenge we have a fabulous sketch by Laura Davis, and our prize of an Organizing Utility Tote is being generously sponsored by Heather Sienkiewycz of 31!

Your creation can be anything from cards, quilts, sewn items, paper crafts, paintings! *** Be sure to have ribbon, bakers twine, jute twine, lace, thread (basically anything that comes on a spool). ***

Here's what I came up with for the challenge...

I clear embossed the black panel, and I love how it turned out.  And I've been itching to use that sentiment too!

Isn't the 1/8" Orange/White Center Stitched Ribbon lovely?  I love the stitching detail.

I'm also entering this card in The Play Date Cafe Challenge PDCC107:

Make sure you head over to The Ribbon Carousel Challenge Blog to see the rest of the gorgeous creations from the crew!  :-)

Just A Note

Hello!  Well, I am loving my new Hero Arts Lotus Background Stamp!  I wish I'd bought it sooner!

Here's a simple little card I made using it (of course, it took me ages to actually put together!  I'm a very slow crafter!)...

The felt I used for the rolled roses is the Bright Orange Felt from Sew Sweet.  That felt makes the most beautiful rolled roses!

And here are the challenges that inspired my card in the first place...

Lotus Butterfly

While I was making this card, I got inspired to make a reverse(ish!) version...

I haven't used a sentiment, but I think it could definitely be used for Christmas, or any occasion really!

I do think I prefer the other version though...  ;-)

'Tis The Season

Hello!  A quick card share today.  This is a Christmas card I made last night based on Jennifer McGuire's tutorial in the Holiday Card Boot Camp class.

I love this Hero Arts background stamp!  I used it for the background, and also to make the butterfly.  I heat embossed it in white on some white cardstock, then applied Barn Door Distress Ink over the top.

I made a few of these butterflies while I was at it, so I'll have another card up shortly.  :-)
